Protecting Your Family from Invisible Dangers
Thorough HVAC safety inspections including carbon monoxide testing, gas leak detection, heat exchanger examination, and electrical safety verification. Peace of mind for your family — because some dangers are invisible.
Why Choose Us
Licensed Professionals You Can Trust
Carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless — you can't see it, smell it, or taste it. A cracked heat exchanger or a misadjusted gas burner can fill your home with this silent killer while your family sleeps. Annual safety inspections are not optional — they're essential.

Our Safety Inspections Services
HVAC safety inspections save lives. Carbon monoxide poisoning from cracked heat exchangers and improperly vented furnaces sends over 50,000 Americans to the emergency room every year.
Carbon Monoxide Testing
We use professional combustion analyzers to measure carbon monoxide levels in your furnace flue gases and ambient room air. Even small amounts of CO in the air supply indicate a dangerous condition. We test at the heat exchanger, the draft hood, and the supply registers to identify exactly where CO is entering your living space.
Gas Leak Detection
Our technicians use electronic gas detectors and soapy water testing to check every gas connection in your HVAC system — from the meter through the supply line, drip leg, gas valve, and burner manifold. A gas leak is an immediate fire and explosion hazard that must be repaired before the system can operate.
Heat Exchanger Inspection
The heat exchanger separates combustion gases from your breathable air supply. A crack or perforation in the heat exchanger allows carbon monoxide and other combustion products to enter your home. We perform visual inspection combined with combustion analysis to detect both visible and microscopic failures.
Electrical Safety Verification
Loose or corroded electrical connections can cause arcing, overheating, and fire. We inspect and tighten all electrical connections, check wire insulation for heat damage, verify proper grounding, and test safety limit switches and rollout switches that protect against overheating and combustion gas spillage.

About Our Safety Inspections Services
HVAC safety inspections save lives. Carbon monoxide poisoning from cracked heat exchangers and improperly vented furnaces sends over 50,000 Americans to the emergency room every year. Gas leaks from aging supply lines and corroded fittings cause fires and explosions. Electrical failures in HVAC equipment cause house fires. These are not hypothetical risks — they are real dangers that annual professional safety inspections are specifically designed to prevent. A.V. Action Air takes safety inspections seriously because we understand what's at stake. Every one of our technicians carries a professional-grade combustion analyzer and electronic gas detector.

Frequently Asked Questions
Safety Inspections FAQ
How often should HVAC safety inspections be performed?
Annual safety inspections are recommended for all gas-fired HVAC equipment. The best time is early fall before you start using your heating system for the season. If your furnace is over 10 years old, or if you've never had a safety inspection, schedule one as soon as possible regardless of season.
What are the signs of carbon monoxide in my home?
Warning signs include: unexplained headaches, dizziness, or nausea that improve when you leave the house; yellow or flickering furnace flames (should be blue); excessive moisture on windows near the furnace; and a stale or stuffy smell near heating equipment. However, low-level CO exposure may produce no symptoms at all — which is why detector alarms and professional testing are essential.
Do I need a carbon monoxide detector if I have a safety inspection?
Yes — absolutely. Safety inspections verify your system is safe at the time of inspection, but conditions can change. CO detectors provide 24/7 monitoring between inspections. California law requires CO detectors in every home with gas-burning appliances. We recommend detectors on every level and outside all sleeping areas.
What happens if you find a cracked heat exchanger?
A cracked heat exchanger is a serious safety hazard. We will immediately shut down the furnace and tag it as unsafe to operate. You have two options: replace the heat exchanger (cost-effective if the furnace is under 10 years old) or replace the entire furnace (recommended if the furnace is over 10-15 years old). We provide both options with detailed pricing.
